Backup and disaster recovery
Backups that have actually been restored, plus a written plan for what happens if a server, a shop or an internet connection goes down.
A backup nobody has tested isn't a backup
Plenty of businesses discover a broken backup on the worst possible day. We set up backups for your email, files, servers and practice or point of sale data, then test a restore so you know it works, and keep testing on a schedule.
What's covered
- Cloud backup for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Server, NAS and file backups
- Local copy plus an offsite copy
- Scheduled restore testing with a short written report
- Ransomware-resistant copies that can't be wiped from a logged-in computer
- A one-page recovery plan: what to do, who to call, what order to restore
Getting back to trading
For a shop or café, recovery usually means payments and orders back within hours, which often comes down to a spare connection and a documented setup. For offices and clinics it means files, email and practice software. We size the plan to what an hour of downtime actually costs you.
Questions about backup & disaster recovery
Isn't Microsoft 365 already backed up?
Not in the way people assume. Microsoft protects its own infrastructure, but deleted or maliciously changed data is your responsibility, which is why we add a separate backup.
How long does a restore take?
It depends on the amount of data and whether a local copy is available. We tell you the realistic time as part of the plan, rather than after the fact.
How often do you test restores?
We agree a schedule, commonly quarterly for small sites, and send a short report each time.
